What is Dandruff?
One basic thing which every individual who faces this disorder should know what exactly dandruff is and why it occurs?
The medical name for Dandruff is ‘Seborrheic Dermatitis’ a general scalp disorder. There are many reasons that are the root cause of this problem like dry skin, even oily skin, growth of bacteria etc.
Reasons that cause this disorder are as follows:
- Stress is one of the most important reasons behind dandruff. Whether it is physical or mental stress both have excessive effect on our body leading to dandruff as well as hair loss. Stress can’t be eradicated fully but I would say eat properly and take proper rest.
- Due to our busy schedule we usually don’t get time to shampoo our hair. This is one such reason that causes dandruff. We usually wash our hair with those shampoos which say that they are anti-dandruff but also contain chemicals. Prefer herbal shampoos. So shampoo your hair properly at least once in 3 days.
- Individuals with dry skin are the ones who suffer the most from dry dandruff during the winters as the weather during this season is very dry.
- Well, even people with oily skin face this problem. There is formation of white or even sometimes yellowish flakes on oily areas of the body like the face, nose, scalp etc.
I know we take the problem of dandruff quite leniently but to say I would suggest you should take it seriously as later on it will only make you feel irritated and itching especially on the scalp as well as affected areas.
